The night stalker by Chris Carter

Trigger warning - this one particular read might be difficult for many women to read as it includes a brutal violence with women, with deeper symbolism of the actions of these killer. I would suggest that you keep your mind prepared while starting this book. I hereby am in no way is promoting the violence against women.

Blurb-

An unidentified female body is brought into the Los Angeles County morgue. The cause of death is still unclear. Her body bares no marks; except for the fact that her most intimate parts have been stitched shut. But what shocks the pathologist the most is that the killer had left something inside her. Something so monstrous Detective Robert Hunter, of the Los Angeles Homicide Special Section, has to be pulled off a different case to take over the investigation.

Within days a new body surfaces. Like the previous victim, she's also been stitched shut and something has been left inside her. Something as ingenious as it is grotesque. And the killer isn't done yet, not by a long shot.

When his inquiry collides with a missing persons' case being investigated by the attractive, razor-sharp Whitney Meyers, Hunter suspects the killer might be keeping several women hostage. Soon Robert finds himself on the hunt for a murderer who is much more monstrous than he ever could have expected; a predator whose past hides a terrible secret, and who won't stop until each of his victims has brought forth the awful truth

My thoughts 💭

Oh my God. Mean I know Chris carter books are supposed to be dark but this one was another level of darkness. Actually times when Chris Carter book I ask myself, how can anyone be the Predator and the prey at the same time.

One of my most favourite things about the Robert hunter series, is a perfect balance of alternative POV of the victim a killer and of course Hunter. There is that flow the altercation. *Chefs kiss* Too perfect. My stomach churned, while reading the POV of the victims, that Sick realization that actually know that you are die and exactly how you are going to die. After The first victim found in the book, I kept on asking myself what would be found inside the next, I just could not put the book down.

Level of brutality is described in a very detailed manner. Every minute detail will given which enhances the dark side of The killer. Very well written with an absolutely fantastic pace, having the potential to keep you at the edge of your seat throughout.

As usual, when the back story of the killer was reaveled, I wanted to cry. ** Such a poor soul. I mean why why why. The author so beautifully played with my emotions and I loved it so much. Robert hunter is one addiction I would never wanna give up on.

Thumbs up 👍
